It
took two very sweaty and arduous weeks for Steve and Jason to pedal
the 500-miles from Providenciales to Miami. As with most voyages,
the most dangerous time is at the beginning and at the end: early
on a northerly blew them into Cuban national waters prompting a
visit by semi-automatic wielding militia in an unmarked gunboat.
On another occasion the pedal system locked up within a few hundred
feet of a reef, and the voyage nearly ended in catastrophe in the
closing stages when a container ship came within a few hundred feet
of running Moksha down in the Gulf Stream.
