FLARES
are used to attract attention in the event of an emergency.
We carry three types on Moksha, each having a separate function.

ROCKET FLARES travel several hundred
feet into the air and come down slowly as a ball of super-bright
phosphorous attached to a parachute to ensue the greatest
chance of someone spotting it. They are used to attract the
initial attention of an airplane or passing ship usually
still a long way off.
|
Smoke
cannisters are also good for attracting the attention of airplanes
passing overhead by letting off a steady stream of orange smoke
for several minutes.
Once
visual contact has been made, a red hand flare can be used for pin-pointing
the whereabouts of a stricken craft, life raft or someone floating
in the water.
